Cor blimey guv’nor. You couldn’t make it up. Who’d a thought it? The flame-haired harpie and Mr Smooth having an affair. Did they go to a ‘love nest?’ Were their romps ‘steamy?’ Did they cast yearning glances towards each other across the newsprint?
Thousands of victims of redtop abuse will have relished the news from the Old Bailey yesterday. For years these purveyors of prurience disguised as morality have made the lives of ordinary people a misery - and their families too.
Nice to know the shoe is on the other foot at least for a while now. The news that they had an affair lasting about six years between 1998 and 2004, tended to skim over the fact that while this affair was alive and steaming, each of them got married.
