“Britain's security services may need to be given greater powers of surveillance to monitor extremists from Isis when they return home to Britain from Iraq and Syria, the former defence secretary Liam Fox has said.
A majority of people will accept that an "ideological battle" means that the authorities will need greater powers to intercept the communications of extremists, Fox said.” Guardian online edition 22/6/14
Fox said all this and more on Sunday morning tele where he was being interviewed. At this point, a sentient human being, aware of the fantastic Fox’s recent history with his mate Adam Werrity - the man who accompanied him to over 40 diplomatic meetings and events - despite not being an official of any sort. Odd but true. Following his bizarre behaviour - and his extremist neo-con views, it is astonishing that this mouthpiece for the arms and security industries is given the time of day.
Not surprisingly there were several pithy responses to Fox on the Guardian’s online comment section.
‘Leg Man’ wrote this:
“The best way to take control over a people and control them utterly is to take a little of their freedom at a time, to erode rights by a thousand tiny and almost imperceptible reductions. In this way, the people will not see those rights and freedoms being removed until past the point at which these changes cannot be reversed.”
Adolf Hitler - Mein Kampf
Lifesamirror added this:
"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."

These boys knew what they were doing. Clearly our political elite have swallowed their approach and are regurgitating it on us.
The way this fantastical pillock gets onto the media is disturbing. He clearly still has a lot of influence and powerful backers. Maybe the media opt for a quiet life - the benign view — or perhaps they too are up to their necks in it with the neo cons…..?
